Helllooooo St. Patricks Day! My favorite day of the year, did you expect anything else? Guess who won't be making their 5'oclock class this upcoming Monday? I'm just trying to be cultural and show patronage to my heritage of course! Can't do St. Patties Day without some cute decorations and accessories. KISS ME I'M IRISH :)

Time to Drink Champagne and Dance on the Table

This past weekend was my best friend Rebecca's 21st birthday. Since she was the first one of us to turn 21, I tried to make this day as special as possible for her. After a long weekend of decorating and planning and thinking up ideas, it ended up feeling like it was my 21st birthday as I took down many stress relieving tequila shots. Although I had fun partying with all of my best girl friends, I had the most fun making the cake! Y'all, let me tell you, it was the biggest hit cake I have ever baked. Which leaves me questioning my baking skills considering I used box mix and icing this time around. Everyone LOVED it. I would highly suggest making one for the 21st birthday of a friend or family member. So cute, so creative, and so fun!

I simply made the cake, frosted and did some messy piping(I wanted it to look crazy instead of perfectly piped) , then used cake sparkles, fondant tiaras and fun candles, all found at Michaels. After, I added some mini bottles from the liquor store. And the very best, topped it off with a barbie and shot glass toilet both found on Amazon. BIG HIT!

I had so much fun with my girl friends and it was such a night to remember (or not to remember..). Cannot wait to do it again for whoever is next!

Out with the old, in with the New

After a big scoop of Birthday Cake Remix ice cream from Coldstone on Fat Tuesday, I am ready to pursue my lenten goals. This year I'm not going to give up food for Lent (since I basically already try my hardest not to eat junk food, with the exception of my occasional..ok frequent.. cupcake and cocktail). I have made a few other goals however, such as running or exercising everyday, trying not to gossip as much, and prioritizing all my school work and important obligations over everything else, in other words.. I will no longer be attending Wine Wednesday if I have an 8 am the next day. Although these are things that I obviously should already be doing, sometimes breaking bad habits is hard.

I'm sure I'm not alone in this struggle.
I over-analyze everything
I have major problems talking to boys who show interest in me
I go through my weekly budget in 3 days
I eat right before bedtime
I am addicted to my computer and cellphone
I touch my face all the time
I make excuses for way too many things
And I party. A little party never hurt no body. But a lot of party definitely can.

What are your bad habits?

DIY Teapot

If you know me you know I cannot wake up without my cup (or five) of green tea and go to bed without my cup of sleepy time tea. Its a known fact. I live for Teavana tea and Anthropologie mugs.

So as I was on Pinterest, in a really important law class that I definitely should've been listening in, I came across DIY sharpie mugs. Loved the idea, however after going through my drink ware cabinet I realized there was definitely not room for anymore mugs... unless I took away a few shot glasses or margarita glasses, which was not an option.

So I decided on a DIY Sharpie Teapot!

Materials:
Ceramic Teapot- I bought this one from the Target Threshold Collection ($12)
Gold Sharpie- I bought a three pack of metallic colors ($3)

1) Clean your teapot with warm water and soap.

2) Apply Sharpie designs however you wish to. I colored in the handle, spout, and lid. Then I added "good morning sunshine" to the front of my pot.

3) Place in oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Be sure to not preheat the oven, instead have the oven heat up after placing the teapot inside.

4) Allow to cool in oven for 30 minutes so the ceramic does not crack. After taking it out of the oven, have it sit for about 2 days before using.

I would advise to hand wash to ensure your design stays permanent.

Violà! A beautiful golden teapot :)
